Handcrafted circa 1885, this desk shows an intricate geometric inlay pattern throughout, made with bone, possibly some elements of ivory, and fine wood veneer.

With a beveled top writing surface, a scroll apron and pierced balustrade legs, this desk is a beautiful example of the lasting influence of the Baroque style, combined with the centuries-long tradition of inlay and marquetry (Intarsia) among Italian artisans.
