Reclaimed Khmer Sculpture Fragment
$1,490.00
Product Description
A hand fragment holding a scroll, reclaimed from a Khmer stone statue. East Thailand, early 20th Century.
Hand-carved in sandstone, the fragment was part of a large garden sculpture of a Khmer deity, showing a time-conferred patina and weathered appearance.
Some losses are present in the fingers area, date unknown. However, the intricacy of the details can still be appreciated throughout the piece.
The fragment rests freely on a bespoke black metal stand, with a base measuring 9.5″ wide x 4″ deep, for a total height of 13 inches.
