$580.00
Product Description
A knife-edge rectangular bolster pillow, with a cover made out of an Early 20th century Japanese Silk Obi.
The Obi is the long sash that wraps around a kimono to fasten it to the body. Through history, the Obi became a symbol of status and a fashion statement, depending on the quality of the materials (mostly silk), and the decorations embroidered in it.
The fabric used for this pillow is a black satin silk Obi, with a spectacular gold brocade, and floral decorations in red, green, pink and blue. Soft and thick silk, in perfect condition for its long age. 1-inch flange around the edges, with a dark grey layer of similar silk in the center. It has a hidden zipper and a foam / dacron insert, which provides firmness and shape. Total dimensions: 30″ Long x 10″ High.
