A stained-glass Manchurian window panel. Guangzhou, China, late Qing dynasty, 19th century.
The panel features a frame that connects the four corners with an elongated hexagon as the centerpiece.The window’s main body is made of Northern Elm mullions and outer frame, which are typical of Guangzhou-style colored-glass windows. Thin glass panels in red, amber, orange, green and blue are featured. Floral motif in the white center, plus floral etching on white panels. A bronze handle on top, possibly added at a later date.
