Terms & Conditions

IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE ORDERING

 

HOW TO ORDER

1) Just fill out the quote request, and we will provide you with a quote valid for 30 days that will include the price, the final COM requirements according to your specifications (if applicable) and an estimated lead time.

2) After the client has approved the quote provided by VW HOME, all orders will require a Purchase Order (PO) with a deposit of 50% of the total value of the order. POs must provide the following information:

–   Address and phone number for billing and shipping

–   Item number – description

–   Quantity

–   Custom dimensions (if applicable)

–   COM supplier, fabric number, color and yardage

–   POs for furniture outside the standard dimensions and/or wood finishes offered by VW HOME must be marked “CUSTOM” and include the exact information about the desired item dimensions / materials.

 

CONSTRUCTION

All our furniture frames are hand-made with solid Maple or Oak, in standard dimensions offered in all our products. All standard dimensions given are to be considered approximate. Upon client’s request and at our option, dimensional changes can be made on most pieces. These changes will be considered customization.

CUSTOM ORDERS

Upon client’s request, orders will be accepted for special and/or custom design. Dimensional changes (i.e. changes in depth, height or width) are considered CUSTOM and will have an additional cost, which we will specify in our quote. Custom orders are subject to all the Terms and Conditions stated herein. IMPORTANT: Custom orders are not subject to cancellations or returns. For this reason, we strongly recommend including exact measurements in the quote request.

 

WOOD FINISHES

The standard wood finishes on maple frames for the VW WEB COLLECTION are Whitewash, Clear Whitewash, Graywash, Raw Umber, Natural Honey and Ebonized Black.

The standard wood finishes for VW UPHOLSTERY, in Oak or Maple frames are Whitewash, Natural, Red Mahogany and Ebonized Black.

The standard wood finishes for VW CASEGOODS in Oak or Maple wood are Lime-Rubbed Oak, Red Mahogany, Natural Oak and Ebonized Mahogany.

Samples are available, sent by mail upon request. Wood Finish samples represent an average color, and finished pieces will vary in tone and color due to the natural characteristics of the wood.

We can customize our furniture using other wood types or finishes, subject to availability and for an additional price. Just include the choices in the quote request, and we will provide you with a price, if the materials you request are available.

 

CUSTOMER’S OWN MATERIAL (COM)

COM (the fabric to be used in upholstery) must be shipped prepaid to VW HOME, at 333 West 39th Street, 10th Floor, New York, NY 10018. COM shipments must be clearly labeled with a side mark stating the client’s name, VW HOME Purchase Order number and item(s) to be made. All orders must be accompanied by a COM fabric sample labeled with the manufacturer’s name, style and color. We accept no responsibility for delays caused by improperly marked or untagged COM shipments. For Customer’s Own Leather (COL), please specify in the quote and we will determine quantity.

NOTE: only a limited number of upholstery items are available to be made in leather.

 

COM REQUIREMENTS

All published COM yardage requirements published in our product pages are based on fabric at 54 inches wide, with no repeat pattern considered. Should a fabric have a pattern that requires to be matched, the product will result in additional charges, which will be specified in the quote.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

All Purchase Orders will be acknowledged by VW HOME in writing. Each order will be processed as indicated on the order confirmation sent by VW HOME and by date of receipt. All COM must be received at least 10 to 12 weeks prior to the due date on the PO. VW HOME does not accept any responsibility for orders not completed on time due to delays in the receipt of COM.

VW HOME is not obligated to accept changes after acknowledgment of an order. However, to accommodate our clients, we will accept reasonable changes under the following conditions:

  1. Requests for changes must be received in writing by VW HOME on time to be implemented, and will be subject to our ability to make such changes.
  2. Any change will be subject to additional charges for materials, labor and administrative costs.

Every order must include 50% of the value of the work to be processed, and the remaining balance is due before delivery. VW HOME reserves the right to transfer completed orders to storage, at customer’s expense, if final payment is not received within 15 days of completion. The customer assumes the risk of damage or loss during such transfer and storage.

 

PRICES

Prices to all custom and design furniture will be given upon request, by a written quote valid for 30 days from the date of issuance. Prices do not include shipping charges, packing/crating, storage charges, sales tax, local delivery, uncrating/unpacking or special installation.

 

CANCELLATIONS AND RETURNS

Once accepted, acknowledged and started, orders are binding and not subject to cancellation. After client’s receipt of merchandise, no item may be returned without written consent and shipping instructions from VW HOME. Unauthorized returns will be refused and returned to the shipper via freight collect. All authorized returns will be subject to a 30% restocking charge.

 

SHIPPING

All shipments are FOB, insured for the value of the merchandise, prepaid by the client, and via trucking to the shipping address shown in the Purchase Order. All shipments are door-to-door. White-glove and special delivery arrangements need a written request by the client and are subject to additional costs. All charges for packing, handling, insurance and shipping must be paid prior to delivery. Shipping and delivery charges will be based on carrier and mileage, assessed at the time of scheduling. VW HOME will notify the client when the shipment has left and provide a tracking number for said shipment.

CLAIMS

All VW HOME furniture is carefully inspected and quality-controlled prior to packing and shipping. All claims including defects, shortages and/or errors must be made in writing within ten (10) days from receipt of merchandise. Failure to make any claim within the above-mentioned period shall constitute acceptance of merchandise and a waiver of any claim. VW HOME shall in no way be liable for any consequential or accidental damage during shipping or storage. Client should carefully inspect all merchandise at the time of delivery and document any obvious damage as soon as possible.

 

WARRANTY

VW HOME Furniture is warranted against obvious and/or hidden defects in materials and workmanship for one year from date of delivery. This warranty does not extend to fabric or leather. During the one-year warranty period, VW HOME will repair, or at our discretion, replace defective merchandise free of charge. However, this warranty does not extend to damage resulting from shipping accidents, alterations, misuse, tampering, negligence, abuse, or ordinary wear and tear. VW HOME is not liable for any delay or failure to deliver or perform due to strikes, lockouts, other labor difficulties, accidents, fires, acts of God or causes of nature beyond our control.

The above warranty is given expressly and in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, of merchantability and fitness for other particular purpose, and constitutes the only warranty made by VW HOME.
