Product Description
A vintage theater mask from Bali, Indonesia, circa 1975-1980. This type of mask is used at Indonesian “Topeng” or Mask theater dances, where traditional stories of nobles, kings, warriors and demons are performed by masked actors, each mask representing a character. The red masks usually represent evil characters, with exaggerated noses, tough features and large teeth. Polychromed hand-carved teak, mounted on a black metal stand.
